EORI number check
Check for free whether an EORI number is valid. Live in the official EU database (EOS), GB numbers with HMRC, with name and address where the business made them public.
Validate EORI numbers automatically?
Build the check into your ERP, shipping software or customer onboarding with the API: GET /v1/eori/{number} or up to 10 numbers per batch. Same key and credit as the VAT check: 5 free checks a month, then €5 for 2,000 checks (VAT and EORI combined).
How to read the result
- Valid: the number is registered for customs purposes.
- Not valid: not (or no longer) registered. Check for typos and the country code (Greece = GR).
- Unavailable: the EU service or HMRC is temporarily unreachable. This does NOT mean the number is invalid, and it does not count.

FAQ
Is this EORI check free?
Yes. You get 5 one-time free checks in total (shared with the free VAT number check), without an account. After that, use the API: a free API key includes 5 checks per month, credit from €5 for 2,000 checks.
Where does the result come from?
From the European Commission's official EORI validation service (EOS). Numbers starting with GB are checked with HMRC in the United Kingdom. A result may come from our cache (up to 24 hours old).
Why is there no company name?
Name and address are only shown if the business consented to publishing them. A number can be valid without a name.
Do you store the numbers I check?
The result is cached for up to 7 days. It is not linked to you. See the privacy statement.
